Thank you SYC!
HITsa joined SYC for lunch in May to celebrate the success of many partnered projects. During the event, SYC presented HITsa staff with a beautiful glass plaque to acknowledge and celebrate their ongoing collaboration and partnership they share, both within Disability Employment Services and Workforce Australia.
Working with these guys is always a delight and to receive acknowledgement from the SYC team is very special.
Thanks for partnering with us for so many worthwhile training and employment opportunities. We look forward to strengthening this relationship with more opportunities in the future.

Food Handlers Training - An update from SA Health
SA Health have strengthened requirements for all food service, catering and retail businesses who handle high risk foods. These businesses are required to appoint at least one Food Safety Supervisor who is able to oversee day to day food handling operations, help food handlers to handle food safely and make sure food safety risks are managed.
What does this mean for your business? More than likely you will need to provide training to key personnel to meet these new standards.
HITsa has created course offerings to meet these standards with:
Food Safety Supervision Skill Set SITSS00069 | combining SITXFSA005 & SITXFSA006
Handle Food Safely in a Retail Environment SIRRFSA001
Both courses are blended delivery including online and face-to-face training. Book online here

HITsa, in collaboration with At Work Australia and ACH Group, delivered 2 weeks of tailored training designed to introduce the 14 participants to the cleaning industry and equip each of the students with a solid platform of entry level skills to kick start them into employment.
We were privileged to have the support of the South Australian Minister for Education, Training and Skills the Honourable Blair Boyer, as well as the Minister for Tourism and Multicultural Affairs the Honourable Zoe Bettison, both in attendance on the final day of training at our HITsa Salisbury site to congratulate all of our participants and thank them for their contribution toward the community aged care cleaning industry.
Skills to Work
Pre Employment Program | Rory's Group Australia
Back in January this year, HITsa, in partnership with At Work Australia and Rory's Group Australia, ran a highly successful Hospitality Industry Pre-Employment program over 2 weeks (RGA Skills to Work Program).
This program resulted in a total of 33 employment offers to At Work Australia clients with 28 participants completing the training through HITsa Training and Employment.
One of the many successful participants Robyn, not only transitioned into employment with Rory's School Canteens, but with in a matter of months is now managing her own canteen and absolutely loving being a part of the Rory's Group Australia team.
"I am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend the pre-employment program with HITsa. The training gave me the basic knowledge which has led me to transitioning into employment with Rory's School Canteens.
I found the training to be informative and helpful and not hard at all. I am now working in and managing a Primary School Canteen. Rory's have been very supportive and helpful when I have needed it. I enjoy the work and the kids are delightful and fun".

Pre-Employment at the Port
HITsa proudly teamed up with The Port Admiral Hotel and SYC Disability Employment Services to deliver a Hospitality Pre-Employment program over 2 weeks.
Throughout the program, all participants were put through their paces to prepare them for working in the industry when the Port Admiral Hotel re-opened under new management on Monday 1 May.
The participants learnt a variety of individual practical skills and how to work in a team - Well done!
A huge thank you to Port Adelaide/Enfield Mayor Claire Boan for taking the time to be involved in this program, as well as sharing with the students the heritage and importance of working in such a historic venue in the Port Adelaide area.

Basic Skills for the Food Industry | SSDIS01007
HITsa just wrapped up this month's Cookery Skill Set at the Edwardstown Club.
In 3 short weeks, students are given the opportunity to attain 5 accredited units, which form part of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery [SIT30821].
"The Basic Skills for the Food Industry training course is packed in to twelve challenging but enjoyable days!
I learnt so much and the training was a great introduction to work in a commercial kitchen. The training covers a lot of practical and theory skills in a short time and the trainer, Aman, was an expert in providing friendly guidance with meeting the learning outcomes.
I would recommend this course for anyone who needs an introduction to cooking and also those seeking to become comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment.
A definite confidence builder!"

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) | CHC33015
Student Testimony
"Yesterday was the last session for my Certificate III - Personal Support Worker (Disability). I can't really believe how the time has flown - and I am going to miss the place (a bit).
Before starting I had no knowledge of HITsa and hadn't studied in years - so I was a little apprehensive - but was totally surprised by the level of care and attention of all the staff I met while completing the course. The place is highly professional, the trainers have valuable first-hand industry knowledge, and everyone was approachable and friendly. The administrative staff particularly, took time and effort to make sure my units were scheduled to complete the course in the shortest possible time, as for me - the regularity of the training sessions helped me to achieve. And now, alongside a few friends I made along the way, we are ready to hit our placements and get out into the industry!"

Retail Success
HITsa Graduate Jemma recently completed her traineeship with a Certificate III in Retail | SIR30216 | as part of her employment with the Propel Group | Rossi Boots.
Jemma wanted to share her training experience with other people who are looking to enter a Retail Traineeship:
"The course was very straight forward and mostly easy to understand, there were a few questions that were worded wrong and became confusing for some people but other than that it was an enjoyable experience.
Gemma and Linda were great teachers and were always up for a chat which made the classroom feel relaxed and welcoming. They would spend extra time with us during lunch or after class to help us with anything we needed.
Overall, the whole course experience was great, I had no difficulties at all and made some great friends along the way. Thanks for all your help throughout this course Terry!"
