Can Care takes off at HITsa Salisbury
The first Can Care local jobs program rolled out at Salisbury in March. Training is a mixture of accredited and non accredited training focusing on the Care, Health and Cleaning sector.
On day 1 students were introduced to employment consultants from Anglicare and Australian Careers Association, who shared interesting aspects of working in the industry such as the diversity of jobs opportunities that are currently available.
Students had opportunity to chat with these employers and it was great to see all students take this opportunity to learn more about what it takes to work in a caring role.
Can Care students will graduate early April and will reconnect with these employers for possible employment outcomes.
Students have expressed interest in continuing their training to complete the qualification CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services, They would not have considered this had they not gained awareness of the industry through Can Care.
HITsa is running Can Care programs through to June 2025. If you would like more information or to register your client, please call Jodie on 8375 2826 or email: [email protected]

Remarkable Employment Outcomes for Health Students
HITsa Celebrates Success: Remarkable Employment Outcomes for Certificate III Individual Support Students in Ageing and Disability
Work Placement Coordinator Jeanette has had the pleasure of sourcing work placements for students recently finishing the outdated qualification, matching their personality and abilities to our Host Organisations.
The employment outcomes for students of CHC33021 Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) have been nothing short of inspiring and a testament to their hard work, dedication and passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
As students embark on their careers, they carry with them the knowledge, skills and values instilled during their training with HITsa, enriching the lives of ageing and disabled individuals within communities across Adelaide.
As the demand for qualified workers in this industry continues to grow, HITsa students are given opportunities for career advancement through the 120 hour unpaid work placement that is part of the qualification.
Many students secure employment even before completing their studies, with aged care facilities and disability support organisations, continually seeking out compassionate individuals.
Below are some of our Host Organisations that have employed students after completing work placement:
- Gawler Grande Views
- Resthaven
- Olive Grove Aged Care
- Focus Disability Supports
- Campability
- Guided Futures
- Empowering Futures
- Novita
- SA Care
- Aspire Together
- Greenlight Disability Support Services
HITsa thanks all it's Host Organisations who continue to support student’s growth throughout their journey.

HITsa is delighted to have hosted students from Paralowie High School at our Salisbury site over the past two months whilst they complete an "Introduction to Retail" course.
Trainer Gemma has been working with the group weekly, teaching all things retail and focusing on customer interaction and customer service skills. Gemma's feedback is that it has been great to have such an energetic bunch in the building.
Workskil has also had a group of job seekers completing SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail. Students got to test what they had learnt by setting up a mock fine dining table. They have more practical assessments to follow where they will demonstrate coffee making skills, café service, simulated dining service and financial skills.
We look forward to helping them achieve their outcomes and graduate at the end of their training.
