Welcome 2024
"And just like that, here we go again! I hope everyone had a great break over the holiday period. The HITsa team most certainly did and are back on deck ready to tackle a new year filled with a variety of learning adventures and new business opportunities. My personal highlight from 2023 was the opportunity where HITsa delivered training at the Adelaide Women's Prison (see more below)."

Staff Development
We kicked off 2024 with a staff development day: trainers participated in sessions which covered a variety of topics including presentations with Kathy Pillon on Instruction Design Principles and RUOK? SA Ambassador Jake Bateman (aka HITsa Business Manager).
Meanwhile, management and administration teams met at round-tables to discuss exciting plans and opportunities for 2024.
Vocational education is a dynamic field and HITsa is committed to staying on top of the game - being the best training provider we can be!
HITsa's "short stay" @ Adelaide Womens' Prison
A highlight from late last year was the opportunity to deliver training at the Adelaide Womens' Prison.
Ladies in pre-release gained accredited units in First Aid and Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee. Pre-release provides inmates a transition process from prison back into the community.
Our trainers at the site were thrilled with the opportunity to work with this group of keen and eager students, who have a strong initiative to learn and develop their skills. Raj and Lizzy are keen to return to deliver more training should HITsa be invited back in 2024.
Pictured below: Trainer Lizzy with a very warm thank you from the pre-release ladies.
Welcome Sam to
HITsa Salisbury
HITsa is very excited to welcome Sam into the team. Sam recently commenced the busy role of Salisbury Operations Coordinator where she will be responsible for coordinating operations onsite to deliver exceptional student experiences, comply with RTO standards and provide quality service to HITsa partners.
Sam will be working closely with Sarah (Business Manager) and Jeanette (Workplace Coordinator) and looks forward to connecting with valuable partners and students over the coming months.
Sam has this to say about starting her journey at HITsa;
"Taking on the role on an RTO Coordinator has been an exciting transition for me. The dynamic nature of the organisation, coupled with the opportunity to contribute to an individual's growth has drawn me in.
My aim is to create an environment that fosters a smooth and structured learning experience for students, emphasised with efficient administration and logistics. I intend to play a pivotal role in streamlining processes to ensure seamless coordination across the Salisbury site."
Cookery - the year ahead
Whilst most of the HITsa team have been relaxing and enjoying some downtime over the holidays, Chef David has been hard at work (nothing unusual) creating new and interesting dishes.
< Check out this new dish on the menu...12 hour braised beef cheek served with braised lentils, parsley and dill oil and szechuan jus...
David will be back in the kitchen to kick off the first Basic Skills for the Food Industry Skill Set in February. This course is perfect for anyone who enjoys cooking and would like to complete a short course before committing to a 12 month or 4 year nationally recognised qualification.
Why choose HITsa? Small class sizes, trainers with current industry experience and flexible training/delivery options, just to name a few...follow the link below to take a look.

Work Placement - A Trainer's Joy!
Trainer Raj had the opportunity to visit students out at their work placements late last year.
Raj put in his words the enormous joy he finds in this part of a student's journey:
“There is no greater JOY than seeing students move from the classroom to a work placement within the industry. Visiting students and seeing their confidence grow from the valuable experience that a work placement offers, is not only exciting but very rewarding for both the student and the trainer.
It’s amazing to see a student's growth and development as a student progresses through their training. There is no better satisfaction than witnessing the confidence of a student excel in a newfound work industry."
HITsa offers more than just a qualification. It offers students a remarkable journey from the moment they begin their studies. Trainers go above and beyond to support everyone in the classroom, ensuring individual student needs are met and successful outcomes are achieved.
When students are engaged, participate in group discussions, ask questions and interact with their peers, friendships are formed and classroom learning becomes so enjoyable. Interested in learning more about our health courses? Contact us here or visit our website.

COMPLIANCE NEWS
What is assessment?
Assessment is the process of collecting evidence and making judgements on whether competency has been achieved. When we assess student performance we must observe the demonstration of skills – often through practical tasks or verbal simulations.
As students complete these skills demonstrations, HITsa assessors record their performance using Observation Checklists. These are an essential part of the evidence we collect when conducting assessments across all our qualifications.
