Preparing the Next Generation of Carers and Cleaners

Are you ready to start a new career in the care or cleaning industry? The Workforce Australia Local Jobs “Can Care” Program is launching at HITsa Salisbury this November, providing a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills and confidence needed for entry-level roles in this growing sector.

What is “Can Care”?

The “Can Care” program is a specialised training initiative designed to equip participants with practical skills for entry-level jobs in the care and cleaning industries. It’s ideal for those interested in a career in caring, parents returning to work, recent school leavers, and anyone considering a vocational path but unsure of the commitment required for a full qualification. With a mix of accredited and non-accredited training, Can Care offers the perfect first step into meaningful, flexible work in the care sector.

Program Details

Duration: 3 weeks
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10am – 3pm

Participants will receive training in essential skills, including:

  • HLTAID011 First Aid
  • CHCCOM005 Communicate and Work in Health or Community Services
  • HLTWHS002 Follow Safe Work Practices for Direct Client Care
  • CPPCLO0111 Cleaning Rooms, Furniture, and Fittings
  • CPPCLO3103 Clean and Maintain Amenities
  • Non Accredited Training in Meeting Personal Support Needs and Manual Handling

This structured curriculum provides hands-on learning and a solid foundation for those looking to step into roles in care or cleaning, with training conducted in a supportive, real-world environment.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility is open to participants referred through our partnering providers, including Workskil, as well as Transition to Work and ParentsNext.
