“I am a year twelve student from Thomas More College who undertook the opportunity to become a VETRO student with HITsa Training and Employment.

I completed this training online, whilst still studying at school and attended the Salisbury campus once a fortnight.

HITsa worked with my school schedule and timetable allowing me to excel in my education. Whilst in class at HITsa I got to experience in an adult learning environment and was provided all the resources and guidance needed from the trainers.

HITsa sourced a work placement that worked with my school schedule and checked in weekly via phone to ensure I was getting the support I needed. A trainer also came to the site for a visit to ensure I understood how the work placement logbook was to be completed and to discuss my placement experience.

The experiences I gained from HITsa and work placement component of the course were very valuable. Not only will I gain a certification, my confidence and belief in my abilities were heightened. I am now excited to join the work force and make a difference to those living with a disability within our communities.”
